Did the Father of David Archulata Come Down With Culkin Disease?

Published by realfan under Entertainment Edit This

As most of us know, David Archuleta was the American Idol choice to win this years competition. David came in second place instead of first place, but this did not really upset most fans. David Archuleta got his record deal with Jive Records, a few short days ago. We should be hearing his premier CD in another short few months, unless Jeff Archuleta throws his son under that bus.

This is a video clip off of “Good Morning America” that throws some light onto the father, son issue.

Before American Idol banned Jeff Archuleta, there were rumors that had surfaced about, how young David has been driven by his father for years, to be a star. No doubt, David Archuleta has a truly amazing talent and grace that are far beyond his young years, when performing. David does not seem to need any pushing from anyone, let alone his own father. His talent shines through for all to see. The only thing David needed was the vehicle to spotlight his unique abilities.

Stage moms and dads are nothing new to the entertainment business. More recently, many insiders coined overbearing child star parents, with having, “Culkin Disease”.

Back in the 90s, Macauley Culkin was the major child star. Whatever project Macauley touched, turned into gold, for Hollywood. His father Kit, was a frustrated actor, that never saw his own star shine, so he lived vicariously through his son’s celebrity stardom. Kit caused so much hell on the sets of Macauley’s movie’s, that eventually; Kit was banned. Eventually, Kit Culkin got so far out there, that his own son had to get a restraining order against his father.

Hopefully, David Archuleta will not have to go through the same sort of thing that Macauley had to endure for years. If Jeff is wise enough, he will be a dad, instead of a crazed stage father, trying to run the whole show.
